National holidays in the Czech Republic in 2017

There are thirteen National holidays in the Czech Republic. Except for Good Friday and Easter Monday, the dates of the holidays are fixed. The "sliding holiday" concept is not applied, i.e. when a holiday falls on a Saturday/Sunday, the following Monday is a normal business day.

  • 8 May 2017 - Liberation from Fascism (Monday)
  • 5 July 2017 - Cyril and Methodius (Wednesday)
  • 6 July 2017 - Burning at Stake of Jan Hus (Thursday)
  • 28 September 2017 - Czech Statehood Day (Thursday)
  • 28 October 2017 - Establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic (Saturday)
  • 17 November 2017 - Freedom and Democracy Day (Friday)
  • 24 December 2017 - Christmas Eve (Sunday)
  • 25 December 2017 - Christmas Day (Monday)
  • 26 December 2017 - Christmas Day (Tueday)
